Several sources close to Yahoo and Microsoft has mentioned that a search partnership deal between Yahoo and Microsoft is likely to be worked out now that Yahoo has named it’s new CEO, former Autodesk CEO Carol Bartz.

CEO Steve Ballmer has been quoted several times in the last few weeks about wanting to get this deal done and how he would like to get it done. Sources close to Microsoft said that a proposal is ready to show the Yahoo board. One source says that “We’ve just been waiting for management clarity to move.” Another source predicated it could be signed as soon as Yahoo’s earning report on January 27th.

If the deal could get done, this could potentially be a great start for the new CEO Bartz, as popular perception is that Yahoo’s best option is to sell to Microsoft.
